Antonio Ortiz Romero(b. 1933)
Was Born in Iznalloz, Granada, on 20 May 1933. He is the son of Francisco Ortiz Garcia and Encarnación Romero Carmona. He began working with his father in 1943 at calle Las Palmas, 14, Iznalloz. He has been influenced in his work by Santos Hernández , Sradivari and Guarneri del Gesú. He makes guitars, violins, violas, cellos, bass violins, bandurrias and laúdes and has taught his sons Francisco Manuel and José Antonio Ortiz Guisado. In 1949 he moved with his parents to Argentina where he had his workshop at calle Moreno 3053, Mendoza.In 1993 he returned to Spain where he had his workshop at calle Resolana 19, Sevilla, until 1998 and is now at calle Fray Luis Sotelo, 2.
